Innovate 518 orchestrates a robust and connected entrepreneurial ecosystem of incubators, accelerators and support organizations to assist in growing sustainable and scalable technology ventures. Innovate 518 is a partnership between the University at Albany, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the Center for Economic Growth, and is designated as a New York State Innovation Hot Spot by NYSTAR.
Start-Up NY offers new and expanding businesses the opportunity to operate tax-free for 10 years on or near eligible university or college campuses in New York State.
Partnering with these schools gives businesses direct access to advanced research laboratories, development resources and experts in key industries.
1 MILLION CUPS
1 Million Cups is a free, national program designed to educate, engage, and connect entrepreneurs. Developed by the Kauffman Foundation, 1MC is based on the notion that entrepreneurs discover solutions and network over a million cups of coffee.

UPSTATE VENTURE CONNECT
Upstate Venture Connect is an entrepreneur-led nonprofit focused on building a region wide startup community. We connect high growth company founders with the people and resources needed for success. We also partner with ecosystem leaders to create angel capital funds and build programs that assist entrepreneurial college students, researchers and technologists.
Center of Gravity
At the core of the Tech Valley Center of Gravity is the makerspace, a community of enthusiasts, entrepreneurs and professionals sharing equipment & expertise. Located in the Quackenbush Building at 30 3rd street in Troy, NY, the Center of Gravity has open hours staffed by volunteers who can answer questions and give tours, and many events/classes/workshops on our calendar. We even rent the space for private functions.
